Japanese lacquered natural labrodite stone. The design is of a snail, with very high relief snail shell, done in gold lacquer. There is mother-of-pearl shell inlay.
Created as a bunchin 文鎮 (calligraphy paper weight) but lovely as an okimono 置物 (objet d'art).
