Japanese contemporary (2023) 漆 urushi (lacquer) oval pendant with intricate mother-of-pearl (from artist sourced African shell) inlay and gold in fine circular dot design by artist 佐野圭亮 Sano Keisuke.
Sano Keisuke was born in 1994 in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
He creates finely crafted lacquer art objects, as well as jewelry & luxury accessories, for which he calls ARAWA. It means expressing the beauty of lacquer more artistically for the modern world.
This pendant is from his line titled: "The Dew of the Cosmos"
All-over lacquer design on rounded-cabochon wood and hemp base. 18k gold bail.
18-inch 14k gold filled chain(hallmarked 14k 1/20) included with pendant.
Comes with original cardboard jewelry box. Printed on inside of lid are the title and a poem by the artist:
