Description: Japanese 21st Century YOSHIDA MINORI peony design vase. The gold peony design is done over a gold and green porcelain base and covered with a clear enamel and fired again. Made by master artist, YOSHIDA MINORI, Japanese National Treasure. YOSHIDA MINORI was born in 1932. He took over the family Kinzan kiln in 1951 and was selected as a living National Treasure in 2001 for his work with the YURI KINSAI technique of gold leaf or gold pigment underglaze style of design. Signature of artist on base MINORI. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist's signature box. The vase measures 9 3/4" height by 9 1/4" diameter. ()
