Description: Japanese 20th Century plate by Japanese Living National Treasure artist YOSHIDA MINORI. The peony and bird design is done in gold leaf over a green slip glaze and covered with a clear glaze and fired. The back has three leaves done in a beautiful dark green overglaze enamel. The edges of the plate have been skillfully trimmed in a scalloped design. YOSHIDA MINORI was born in 1932, was selected for his work with the YURI KINSAI technique of gold leaf or gold pigment underglaze style of design. Signature of artist on base MINORI. Comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. The plate measures 12" diameter by 1 1/2" height. (kadene)
