| Description: |
Japanese early 1980's lacquered metal tray by lacquer artist, MASUDA MASAHIRO (1940-). The main central part of the tray is done in the KAWARI-NURI technique and the edge is done with many layers of lacquer which is then cut through showing the many layers. The tray comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. This design was originally exhibited at the annual Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 1981.
