Name: JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD BRONZE HERON BY OKAZAKI SESSEI

Description: Japanese Meiji Period bronze heron OKIMONO by master metal artist Okazaki Sessei (1854-1921). Chop mark on bottom of heron. The heron measures 8 1/2" wide, 13 3/4" tall and 5" deep. With stand the OKIMONO measures 21 1/1" wide, 16 1/4" tall and 11 7/8" deep. The OKIMONO comes with wooden storage box signed, seal and dated (1939) by Sasaki Shoudou stating that the OKIMONO is truly made by Okazaki Sessei. Sasaki Shoudou was a Living National Treasure artist/sculptor. (nodenesu)
