Name: JAPANESE CIRCA 1973 SHIBUICHI KORO IN THE SHAPE OF AN OWL BY LNT KATORI MASAHIKO

Description: Japanese circa 1973 shibuichi KORO in the shape of an owl. The owl is done by Living National Treasure artist KATORI MASAHIKO (1899-1988). He was the son of another artist KATORI HOZUMA and he studied with TSUDA SHINOBU at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. The owl comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooded storage box. The owl measures 4" wide, 5" tall and 4 1/4" deep. This owl was an exhibition piece at the prestigious 1973 Japan Traditional Crafts and Arts Exhibition. ()
