Description: Japanese Mid 20th Century (Showa Period) ceramic tetsuyu (iron glaze) tenmoku (oil spot) chawan (tea ceremony bowl). Beautifully done with black & umber mottled ground and high gloss outer glaze. Has maker's chopmark, although artist unknown to us. Measures 2 1/2" high by 5" in diameter.
