Description: Japanese 20th century bronze wall pocket. The wall pocket is cleverly made in the shape of a crawling snail. Made by bronze artist NAKAMURA TOICHI (1902-1973). Chiseled signature of artist, TOCHI-SAKU on reverse. NAKAMURA TOICHI lived in Tokyo and exhibited at the Japanese national art exhibitions widely at Teiten, Bunten, Shin-bunten, Hoshukuten and Nitten. The vase measures 9 3/4" long, by 3 1/4" width by 2 1/2" deep.
