Description: Japanese early 20th century bronze vase. The vase is in the shape of bamboo with branches and leaves done in high relief. A sparrow rests on one of the branches of bamboo. Beautifully and realistically done. Made by famous Japanese bronze artist, NOGAMI RYUKI (1865 - 1932). His works of art are exhibited at Tokyo National Museum and at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Signed RYUKI on back of vase. The bottom of the vase is also hollow like real bamboo. The vase measures 11 7/8" tall by 3 1/2" in diameter.
