Name: JAPANESE SHOWA PERIOD GOLD LEAF WITH BLACK & RED LACQUER DRAGON RANMA

Description: Japanese SHOWA Period carved, lacquered and gold leaf covered RANMA of dragon. The dragon is beautifully carved in high relief and with great movement. The dragon is covered in gold leaf and black and red lacquer and is framed within a rectangular frame done in black and red lacquer. There is also decorative tooled metal pieces place around the black frame. In back is the inscription: HAKU OKI, SESHU MORI GINTARO, SHOWA SANJYUSHICHI NEN GO GATSU ITSUKA, which translated means, gold leafing applied by MORI, GINTARO, the 5th of May of the 37th year of Showa (1963). The RANMA measures about 43 3/8" long, 21 1/2" tall and 9" thick.
