Description: Japanese Meiji Period bronze turtle shaped hinged box. There large turtle has a small turtle crawling on its back. The turtle's shell opens by hinge to reveal an opened container. The turtles are beautifully done in fine detail and with great expression. Signed by artist, KANRYU. It measures 6 1/2" long, 2 1/2" tall and 4" wide. (norasu)
