Description: Japanese Edo Period pair of iron ABUMI stirrups. This pair has a geometric floral pattern incised into the iron. The inner part ofthe stirrups are covered with wood and painted with red lacquer. The bottoms of the stirrups have a water and water plant design which is partially silver inlaid. Each stirrup measures 10 1/2" long, 10" tall and is 5" wide. (rudene)
