Description: Rare Japanese circa 1940 iron document box with silver and mixed metal inlays. The preying mantis, grasshopper and lady bugs are done in silver in relief on a background design of iron, silver and mixed metal inlaid leaves and blossoms. The box is signed Ryosuke and is made by Hashimoto Ryosuke. The box measures 10" wide, 13 1/2" long and is 4 1/2" deep. (nodenesu)
