Description: Japanese early 20th century KOBE toy. This KOBE toy was probably made between 1902 - 1924, possibly by artist, DEZAKI FUSAMATSU. This toy depicts an figure holding a fan and a mallet. The fan in his right hand is covering a pot set in front of the figure. He carries a mallet in his left hand. Made of cherry, box and persimmon wood, with bone or ivory inlaid eyes and mallet. The KOBE toy measures 4 1/4" tall, 2 1/4" wide and 3 3/16" long. (doisu)
