Description: Japanese early to mid 20th century basket by master basket maker, ISHIKAWA SHOUNSAI. The intricately woven basket is in the shape of a Japanese hand drum with small side handles. The basket is signed SHOUNSAI SAKU. ISHIKAWA SHOUNSAI was born in the Kanto area and was active in Tokyo. No box. The basket measures 10 3/4" tall and 7" in diameter at the top rim. (dorasu)
